Cary Family Photographer & filmmaker
Cary families deserve photographs as warm and intentional as the lives they’ve built here. I’m Katrina Williams, a Durham-based family photographer and filmmaker serving Cary and the greater Triangle. I create lifestyle family photography and cinematic family films that capture who you actually are—not a version of your family that had to be prompted and posed into place. My sessions are calm, fun, and designed to make everyone (yes, even the reluctant ones) feel at ease.

Serving Cary Families with Care
Cary has a beautiful mix of natural spaces and thriving neighborhoods—and I love bringing sessions to life here. From the wooded trails at Hemlock Bluffs to the open fields at Bond Park, there’s no shortage of gorgeous settings for a family session. But some of my favorite Cary sessions happen inside—in homes where the light comes in just right and kids feel completely free to be themselves. I bring a calm, unhurried energy to every session, so your family can exhale and just be together.
Photography That Honors Your Story
The name Fifty Two Hundred comes from a place of deep meaning: unit 5200 is the bone marrow transplant floor at Duke University Hospital, where my son’s life was saved. That experience gave me an enduring appreciation for the ordinary beauty of family life—and it’s the lens through which I photograph every family I work with. I’m not trying to make your family look like a catalog. I’m trying to show you what you already have. Voted Best of Durham 2023–2026 and featured by Adobe Creative Cloud.
A Few of My Favorite Things About Photographing Cary Families
Cary has a lot going for it photographically — beautiful parks, great light, and homes where the warmth of family life is unmistakable. Some of my favorite outdoor spots include the wooded trails at Hemlock Bluffs (stunning in fall), the open fields at Bond Park (perfect for late-afternoon golden hour), and Regency Park when the gardens are in bloom. But some of the most genuine sessions I’ve done in Cary have been entirely indoors — in homes where the kids feel free to be themselves and the real family life is right there in plain sight. That’s always where the best photographs live.
“We have done family pictures for two years in a row now and are already planning
a third! I love that Katrina is willing to come be with you in your environment and
spend time with your family. Our pictures are so meaningful because of this. Katrina
has such a calming and lovely presence — it is clear how much she values and puts
love into her work. We are so thankful for the beautiful memories she has captured
for us and hope for many more!”
