Emily & Connor | Intimate Wedding at Honeysuckle Tea House | Chapel Hill NC Wedding Photographer

Emily had her vows in a hand-illustrated booklet. Connor had his in a leather journal. And before the ceremony — before a single guest took their seat — they said those vows to each other privately, just the two of them.

If you're looking for a Honeysuckle Tea House wedding photographer in Chapel Hill, NC, this post is for you. This is what it looks like when two people make every single decision their own.

Their day at Honeysuckle Tea House was warm, colorful, and completely theirs — coordinated beautifully by Events by Rebs, a Durham-based wedding planner who just gets it. A wildflower bouquet with orange calla lilies and bold purples. A first look in the pine forest. A pie instead of a cake. Nothing was a default. Everything was a choice.

If you're planning a small, intimate wedding in the Triangle and want something that actually feels like you, Honeysuckle Tea House is worth a serious look. It's a 35-acre farm at 8871 Pickards Meadow Road in Chapel Hill, NC — pine forests, a stained-glass greenhouse, open gardens, and a reception pavilion with string lights and big windows looking out over the property. Pair it with a planner like Rebs who knows how to make the details come together without losing what makes your wedding yours — and you've got something really special.

Private Vows Before the Ceremony

Before the ceremony, just the two of them. I don't photograph that moment — it belongs to them — but I love that they did it. It meant that by the time they were standing under the magnolia arch in front of everyone, they'd already said the most important things. The public ceremony was a celebration of something that had already happened. That's a choice. A really good one.

Getting Ready at Honeysuckle Tea House

Emily got ready in the bridal tent on site with her mom. I'll remember the moment they stood forehead to forehead in that quiet space for a long time. Smaller weddings give you room for those moments to actually land.

First Look in the Pine Forest

Connor waited in the pine forest. The second he turned around, Emily was already laughing. She couldn't even hold it in. That's the whole story in one frame.

Outdoor Ceremony at Honeysuckle Tea House

They said their vows under a magnolia arch strung with greenery and white fabric — quiet and focused and exactly right. Thirty seconds after it was official, they were walking back up the aisle laughing, surrounded by some of the kindest, most thoughtful people I've ever been around at a wedding.

Honeysuckle gives you so many places to move. We shot in the pine forest, inside the stained-glass greenhouse, along the garden paths. Nothing looked like a template. Connor's dark green suit. Emily's wildflower bouquet. When a wedding is personal, the details get to be personal too.

Reception at the Honeysuckle Tea House Pavilion

First dance under the string lights. Everyone watching, that quiet before the cheers. And at the end of the night — pie. They cut a pie and fed it to each other. I want this at every wedding I ever shoot.

Golden Hour Portraits at Honeysuckle Tea House

The pine forest at Honeysuckle at the end of the day — that light is something I'll never stop chasing. We had thirty minutes and we used every second. The shot by the venue sign with that golden sky behind them is one of my favorites I've ever taken.

Emily and Connor — you have so many thoughtful details and the kindest people in your corner. Thank you for letting me tell your story.
