A Duke Gardens Vow Renewal | Mark & Meeta
Some sessions stay with you. Mark and Meeta's Duke Gardens vow renewal is one I'll carry for a long time.
Client testimonial:
“We truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Katrina! Planning a vow renewal from out of town could have been stressful, but she made the entire experience feel effortless, magical, and deeply personal. She didn’t just show up with a camera — she helped create an entire dream ceremony for our family.
She went far beyond what we ever expected from a photographer. From helping us find the perfect location to connecting us with incredible local vendors and resources, she genuinely cared about making the day beautiful and meaningful for us. Her guidance and local knowledge made us feel completely taken care of.
And then there are the photos — absolutely breathtaking. She captured the emotion, intimacy, joy, and beauty of the day in a way that feels timeless. Every image feels cinematic yet deeply authentic.
One thing we especially appreciated: unlike so many photographers who charge additional fees later for access to your gallery or individual photos, all of her photos were included upfront. No hidden costs, no upselling afterward — just complete transparency and generosity from the beginning, which honestly made the experience feel even more special and stress-free.
If you are looking for someone who is talented, thoughtful, organized, artistic, and truly invested in creating a meaningful experience, she is an absolute gem. We will treasure these memories forever because of her.”

They Met at Duke — and Came Back to Say It Again
Fourteen years ago, Meeta saw Mark for the first time on Duke University's campus in Durham, NC — and she knew. He was her person. That instant, soul-level recognition. The kind that doesn't need explaining.
What followed wasn't easy: long distance, an engagement right here in Durham, a wedding in 2016, two children, careers that completely transformed, and a whole life built together in Florida — far from the city where it all began.
Ten years of marriage holds so much more than people see from the outside. And here they are. Still choosing each other.
A Homecoming and a Horizon
When it came time to mark ten years, there was never a question about where. They flew back to Durham, back to the Sarah P. Duke Gardens — the place that holds their origin story — and stood in that lush, golden light to say their vows again.
Not because they had to. Because they wanted to honor how far they've come and set an intention for what comes next.
During the ceremony, Meeta quoted Pablo Neruda. Both of them have always described feeling like they'd known each other in every lifetime — not just this one.
On Keeping Your Marriage the Priority
Meeta said something early on that I haven't stopped thinking about: parenting is a fast track to enlightenment. So much surrender. So much growth.
It is so easy, in the middle of raising small children, for a marriage to quietly drift — for the partnership to become logistical, for two people who love each other to stop really seeing each other through the noise. What Mark and Meeta have done is refuse to let that happen. They showed up for each other. They modeled — for their children, every single day — what it looks like when love is a practice, not just a promise.
That's the kind of love I am here to document.
Duke Gardens: The Most Magical Session Location in Durham, NC
The Sarah P. Duke Gardens in Durham, NC is one of the most beautiful places I photograph in the Triangle. Ancient trees, winding paths, layered gardens, and light that is pure magic — it's perfect for Duke Gardens family sessions, Duke Gardens vow renewals, and milestone portraits of every kind.
For Mark and Meeta, it wasn't just a beautiful backdrop. It was the place where their love took root. And you can feel that in every single frame.
