Bea & Tim | A May Wedding at Honeysuckle Tea House — Chapel Hill Wedding Photographer

What a joy to photograph Tim and Bea’s wedding! Bea is an oncology physician. Tim is a neurologist. Two people who spend their days showing up for others in some of the hardest moments of their lives.

My kind of people.

The kind of couple where you understand immediately — this love isn't just soft. It's steady. It's built for something.

The Honeysuckle Tea House in May

The Honeysuckle Tea House in Chapel Hill has a way of holding a moment softly.

The light comes in warm. The air feels unhurried. It's the kind of place that doesn't compete with what's happening inside it — it just holds it.

And on a May afternoon this spring, what it was holding was extraordinary.

The Dress

Bea wore her mother's wedding dress for party of the celebration. Long lace sleeves. The kind of detail that stops you mid-breath.

There's something that happens when a bride steps into a dress that was worn before her — by someone who loved deeply, who built a life, who understands what this moment means. It's not just fabric. It's a kind of inheritance.

And when Bea's mother and grandmother saw her in it for the first time — her grandmother having flown all the way from Puerto Rico for this moment — it was a beautiful moment!

Something Borrowed

Bea received something borrowed from her new mother-in-law: a gorgeous rosary bead necklace that completed the look in a way that felt both personal and timeless.

And a lace trim veil that was quiet and classic — the kind of thing that photographs beautifully because it isn't trying to be anything other than what it is.

Timeless.

What I Want You to Know About This Kind of Work

I'm a Chapel Hill and Durham wedding photographer, but more than that — I'm someone who believes weddings are really about story, and family and connection.

They're about the people who couldn't be there and the people who flew across the world to make it.

They're about a grandmother watching her granddaughter wear the dress.

About a new mother-in-law offering something of herself to welcome someone into her family.

About two people standing in the middle of all of that love and choosing each other anyway.

That's what I'm trying to capture.

Not just the dress. Not just the details. But the feeling of a day that will become a story your family tells for generations.
